지난 2024년 10월 9일, 인스타그램 계정 @photoisemotion이 해킹되는 허망한 상실을 겪었습니다. 2018년 10월 31일, 한 장의 사진으로 시작된 소통의 창이었던 공간에서 1만여 팔로워와 공유했던 순간들이 더 이상 닿을 수 없게 되었습니다.​

 

하지만 벚꽃이 해마다 다시 피어나듯, 소멸한 흔적 속에서 새로운 작업의 영감이 피어났습니다. 이전 계정에서 매해 촬영했던 벚꽃 사진들이 모티브가 되었고, 이를 바탕으로 미디어아트 작품을 준비하였습니다.​

 

벚꽃은 피고 지는 순간마다 새로운 의미를 만들어냅니다. 만개한 벚꽃잎이 바람에 흩날릴 때, 사라짐 속에서 또 다른 형태의 아름다움이 피어납니다.

 

올해의 벚꽃은 “다시는 돌아오지 않을...” 순간이지만, 단지 스쳐 지나가는 것이 아니라 기다림을 남깁니다. 또다시 새로운 봄날의 벚꽃을 기다릴 것입니다.

On October 9, 2024, the Instagram account @photoisemotion was lost due to hacking. Since its beginning on October 31, 2018, it had been a space for sharing images and stories—connecting with over ten thousand followers. That space and the moments within it have now disappeared.

However, just like cherry blossoms return every spring, new inspiration began to grow from the loss. The cherry blossom photos captured each year on the account became the starting point for a new media art piece.

Cherry blossoms always carry changing meanings as they bloom and fall. When petals scatter in the wind, something beautiful is created even in their disappearance.

This year’s cherry blossoms mark a “Not Coming Back...” moment—one that will never return. Yet it is not just passing by. Instead, it leaves behind a sense of quiet waiting. We will once again look forward to the cherry blossoms of a new spring.
